The Louie D. and Alma Hilton Baker Scholarship Endowment Fund

Several years ago a member of Sardis Lutheran Church, Louie D. Baker, made provision in his will for an endowment to financially assist persons who are engaged in a course of study to enter full-time ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. His intent was to help those who are not only seeking ordained ministry, but all full-time Christian service, including religious education, music and administration. If you are currently enrolled in such study, you are invited to apply for these scholarship funds by contacting the pastor of Sardis at (704)462-2081 or PASTOR@SARDISLUTHERAN.COM

Deadlines for application to the Louie D. and Alma Hilton Baker Scholarship Endowment Fund are follows:

June 30th for the Fall semester

December 31st for the Spring semester

Amounts of each award are based on the availability of funds. They vary from year to year as specified in the Endowment Fund Guidelines and also depend upon the number of applicants. Scholarships awards will be sent directly to the school or institution to be applied toward the applicant’s account.
